Startup Sphere 🤝 Cofounder

Welcome back to Startup Sphere, and thank you for being a subscriber. Before we get started, a quick message from this week’s sponsor, Cofounder:

Cofounder lets you run an entire company with agents. It assigns work, delegates to specialized subagents, and orchestrates across the entire business.

Cofounder is designed like a real company, with departments, managers, and shared context. Engineering agents ship features, marketing agents write and distribute content, sales agents surface and qualify leads, and design agents build your visual identity and apply it across the entire org.

From the first lines of code to a one billion dollar company, Cofounder will support you.

I’m especially happy to partner with Cofounder, because I believe an army of agents is how companies of the future will be run. So you’re looking to get an edge early, check out cofounder.co now.

Without any further ado, let’s get into this week’s businesses ⤵️

Big Idea

Employee recognition platform for companies

🛑 The Problem: Enterprise HR teams waste hours manually sending employees gifts, anniversary rewards, etc.

💡 The Idea: Automate the entire recognition and gifting process, completely eliminating the manual work.

I found this idea on Startup Sphere Insights, a database of thousands of proven businesses that are already making money. Looking for your next venture? Join today.

⚙️ How it Works: Companies connect their HR data, calendars, birthdays, etc., and the platform handles messaging and fulfillment automatically.

Why it Works: Companies and HR teams don’t want to spend hours every month sending out gifts and tracking down work anniversaries. If you’re able to automate the process, the team can focus on high-impact tasks (which the C suite will appreciate).

⚔️ The Competition: The space includes players like Kudos, Awardco, and Applauz.

📖 The Playbook: Use G2 to get reviews on the above competitors. Build a product that addresses the most common/largest pain points mentioned in those reviews. Cold outreach to startup CEOs on Crunchbase who recently raised money and offer them a free trial. Once their HR team notices how much time they save, they won’t churn.

💵 The Numbers: $1.4M TTM revenue | $911K TTM profit | $3.8M asking

Build, Don’t Buy

Transaction management platform for real estate agents

💵 The Numbers: $1.2M TTM revenue | $713K TTM profit | $1.7M asking

The idea is a platform that gives real estate agents and brokers a centralized place to take deals from contract to close. Based on the numbers, this business is doing well. But I know from conversations that the real estate agent market is ripe for disruption. Many agents don’t use tools like these, so there is still a lot of space for new players to come in (you). If you have experience in real estate or know an agent, partner with them and build out a tool that addresses their biggest pain points and watch it print.
